Scott Healy Ensemble Returns to Vitello’s – March 27th at 8PM
I’m pleased to bring my band back to this great club on Wednesday, March 27th. We’re doing one set at 8PM. Vitello’s the best-sounding room in LA, and the piano is fantastic (a Steinway B). I have a great lineup: Jeff Driskill, Alex Budman, Tim McKay on reeds, Bill Churchville and Brian Swartz on trumpets, and the great Andrew Lippman and George Thatcher on trombones. This is an amazing group of LA musicians, who really “get” my music and my vibe.
Someone once told me to never show up at a rehearsal without something new to play, so I’m working on some new material for this gig. In addition I’m going to drag out some charts that I haven’t played since I was in NYC. I’m also going to be doing tunes from the record, “Hudson City Suite” – in case you’ve missed the promos on this site, here’s a link for more info.
I’ve been getting some great reviews on the record, and airplay on jazz radio around the country. Please visit hudsoncityrecords.com for full details, including iTunes and Amazon links.
I expect a big crowd, so you’re advised to make reservations.
Here’s a link to the event info, including directions, a ticket link and all you need to know.
Hope to see you there!
